From February 13-15, the World AI Cannes Festival (WAICF) gathered some of the brightest minds in artificial intelligence to explore the latest advancements shaping the industry. As part of the Kosovo ICT Support delegation, we had the opportunity to engage with global leaders, researchers, and innovators who are pushing the boundaries of AI technology.
This year’s discussions highlighted a major shift in AI applications—from purely software-driven intelligence to physical, interactive agents like humanoid robots. Beyond robotics, key topics included AI governance, the role of agentic AI in decision-making, and national investments fueling AI innovation.
In this article, we’ll break down the most significant insights from WAICF 2025, exploring how these developments will shape the future of AI and its integration into industries worldwide.
Key Insights from WAIC
From the opening ceremony to the final moments of the conference, Italian Oversonic robots and Tesla’s Optimus dominated discussions. The growing presence of humanoid robots at WAICF highlighted a major shift in AI applications—from software-driven intelligence to physical, interactive agents capable of assisting in healthcare, industry, and everyday environments.
These robots represent the next frontier of AI, pushing boundaries in cognitive processing, machine learning, and real-world task execution. The excitement surrounding these innovations underscored the increasing role of embodied AI in shaping the future of work and human-machine collaboration.
Spotlight on Oversonic: The Rise of Cognitive Humanoids
The Oversonic team drew significant attention at their stand at WAICF 2025. This Italian tech company has developed RoBee, a cognitive humanoid robot available in two versions: RoBee M, designed for healthcare, and RoBee R, built for industry.
These robots are more than just impressive designs—they are already making an impact. RoBee M is assisting patients in a Rome hospital, supporting individuals with neurological impairments by stimulating their memory using techniques applied by neurologists. Meanwhile, RoBee R is designed for industrial environments, performing tasks that assist and relieve workers.
One of the most remarkable aspects of these robots is their ability to learn and improve as they operate. Oversonic’s advancements in cognitive robotics suggest that we will be hearing much more about RoBee and its expanding applications in the near future.
Agentic AI as an Enabler
Efficiency gains from AI will increasingly depend on personalization. It was exciting to hear about the next wave of persona-based AI agents from IBM, designed to adapt to specific user needs and contexts. Additionally, SAP’s Business DataCloud is helping to break down data silos, improving the quality of decision-making with trusted data.
AI Governance is Critical
As AI adoption scales, companies need clear governance frameworks. Defining how AI is deployed, ensuring data quality, aligning AI agents, and structuring effective training models will be essential for responsible and impactful AI implementation.
Our CEO also met with Inria’s leadership, one of Europe’s top AI research institutions, to discuss the intersection of academia, policy, and industry. A major takeaway from these discussions was France’s strong national investment in AI, showcasing how government-backed initiatives can fuel innovation and global competitiveness. This reinforced the idea that a strategic approach to AI development is essential for long-term technological growth.

France’s Bold Investment in AI
Just before the event, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a major commitment to AI, revealing that 109 billion euros will be invested in artificial intelligence over the next few years. This bold initiative underscores France’s dedication to fostering AI innovation and global competitiveness, setting a precedent for national AI strategies worldwide.
